Ray Cox - Garden & Outdoor Photography Course, 31 August - 1 September
A 2 day course at privately-owned Kailzie Gardens for 8 people, on digital photography led by renowned gardens photographer Ray Cox.
Day 1
In the morning Ray will give a digital presentation covering the main theory and techniques relevant to garden and outdoor photography.
After lunch, Ray will take participants around the gardens where he will draw attention to views, features, objects etc that might work photographically.
Participants will then be set free with their cameras to put into practice some of the theory and techniques they have learnt. Ray will give one-to-one tuition to 5 participants in half hour slots throughout this session.
The day will conclude with a round-up of the day and a brief preview of Day 2.
Day 2
In the morning, Ray will give a presentation on portraiture, which will cover a range of techniques for photographing people outdoors; this can be extended to animals/pets if required.
Participants will go outside with their cameras to put their theory of portraiture into practice. During this session, Ray will give one-to-one tuition to the remaining 3 participants.
During lunch, participants will select their favourite photos from their own practical sessions. These will be uploaded on to the laptop and shown to the whole group in a discussion/analysis session.
For a bit of fun, participants will be asked to vote for what they consider the best photo from each category shot over the two days. A prize will be awarded for the winning photos.
The day will close with a roundup and final Question & Answer session.
